We all knew that Donald Trump has been, and always will be a liar-he’s not done anything to dispel that truth about his personality throughout his life.
In fact, it is the one enduring trait he exhibits. It’s so ingrained in him that it even rubs off on people he has working for him..such as KellyAnne Conway, and Sean Spicer, both of whom demonstrated the uncanny ability to absorb their employer’s habits over the past weekend.
It didn’t even take 48 hours to make it apparent that this administration is going to be the least truthful and candid one we’ve seen in quite a while..or at least since Richard Nixon was in the White House.
What is so disturbing about this set of events is the reality that they even happened. Not happy with the media showing pictures (and not photoshopped, either) of the Washington Mall during the Obama inauguration and Trump’s, Spicer came lashing out that the media was distorting facts and numbers about the attendance at Trump’s-both of which were provable beyond a shadow of a doubt. Pictures don’t lie.
It was arguably the most ridiculous press briefing of the new administration, and to follow it up later with a quote from Conway stating that Spicer was dealing with “alternative facts” was just mind-boggling, to say the least.
In the midst of this debacle was the news that Trump will not release his taxes, which Conway said wasn’t going to happen because ‘nobody cares.’
We do care-and we care about the honesty quotients of this new President and his staff. They all show woefully low bars of honesty and integrity, which are attributes most normal people appreciate.
In short, most people do not like liars.
It’s becoming more and more obvious each passing day that this election raised to power the most unfit man and his cohort of inept enablers ever to cross the portal of the White House.
It’s clear that we can no longer trust any of them to do anything to dispel the notion that they don’t have our best interests at heart, and that they’re all not in it for the long con, because that’s becoming an outright lie. They prove it every time they speak.
Unless we can remove them from their perches of lofty disregard for the truth by whatever legal means whatsoever, it’s going to be a very long 4 years of lies, evasions and distortions of reality. Richard Nixon would have been proud of this bunch.
We cannot and must not normalize or accept their version of truth. It’s unacceptable and so are they.
We deserve better than a bunch of liars running this country.
