The Nowhere Man

by fmhilton

For some time now, I’ve been puzzling over what kind of person Mitt Romney actually is-and have been stumped as to how to describe him. He doesn’t seem to have a discernible personality.

He tries to appear sincere-he attempts to be authentic, and in every instance that I’ve read about, he fails miserably both ways in spades. Others have tagged him with the ‘chameleon’ description-but that’s being insulting to those amphibians.

Mitt Romney is far less interesting.

Every time he’s spoken in private or public, he has uttered some real idiotic statements that would make any political writer duck behind their desk and head for the liquor.

So why does he come across so badly every time? Why is he such a lightning rod? Is it him? Is it the Republican Party and its’ members? Does he have a personality disorder that prevents him from being perceived as having a soul?

I think it’s simple to figure it out.

It’s him-he’s a shallow rich man, thinking he can deceive the rest of us into voting for him.

It’s not working. The more he talks, the less people like him-and there weren’t many to begin with, anyway.

Listen to the song “Nowhere Man” by the Beatles, and you will discover they describe Mitt Romney to a T.

” He’s a real nowhere man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

Doesn’t have a point of view,
Knows not where he’s going to,
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere Man please listen,
You don’t know what you’re missing,
Nowhere Man,the world is at your command!

He’s as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?

Nowhere Man, don’t worry,
Take your time, don’t hurry,
Leave it all till somebody else
lends you a hand!

Doesn’t have a point of view,
Knows not where he’s going to,
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere Man please listen,
you don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command!

He’s a real Nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

Here’s a direct quote from him:

As Romney walked back to the plane to shake hands with the five individuals who drove vans in the motorcade, your pooler asked Romney if he was going to be campaigning a little harder from here on out.

Ha ha. We’re in the stretch aren’t we? Look at those clouds. It’s beautiful,” he said, pointing to the sky. “Look at those things.”

That’s Mitt Romney-isn’t he just so deep?
