Occupy Wall St.

by fmhilton

There have been many words spoken, written and aired these past few weeks about the continuing protests in New York and other cities.

Many people are confused about what this movement wants. Many don’t understand why the protestors are camped out day after day in a small space trying to get their voices heard.

Many people deride them. They criticize the protestors as being hippies, ‘scum’ and other lovely names.

They aren’t. They’re American citizens, using their Constitutional rights as they see fit. Too bad some people think that’s a bad thing.

You want to know what they want, what this protest is all about-check this page out and read a few of the posts.

We are the 99%

We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we’re working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I guarantee you will not only understand but you will cry afterward.  It’s heartbreaking to see the “American Dream” turn into a nightmare for so many millions of people.

I am the 99%.
