A zygote is more important than a woman

by fmhilton

I wonder why men believe they are the sole deciders of what woman are supposed to do with their bodies.

Most of the most fervent anti-abortion and anti-choice declaimers are male. They will stand up and state that a single cell in a woman’s body is worth more to society than a fully grown woman with a mind.

Ron Paul stated this during the Ames ‘convention’:

“You cannot have relative value for life,” Paul continued. “We cannot play God and make those decisions. All life is precious. If we are to defend liberty and allow people to spend money as they want, to go to the church they want and run their lives as they please, you have to understand where that liberty, and where that life comes from. It does not come from the government, it comes from our creator.”

No-it does not come from our ‘creator’. It comes from human self-will. Humans decide how to live. Not some created being in the sky. You’re playing a stand-in “God” actually by telling us how to live. Thanks a lot.

Then there’s Rick Santorum, who boldy stated this about abortion and rape :

“That child is an innocent victim,” Santorum replied. “To be victimized twice would be a horrible thing. It is an innocent human life, genetically human from the moment of contraception. We in America should be big enough to try to surround ourselves and help women in those terrible situations who have been traumatized already. To put them through another trauma of an abortion, I think is too much to ask. So I would absolutely stand and say that one violence is enough.”

According to him, women should be forced to have a child as a result of rape.

In other words, women who have had the misfortune of being raped must suffer the torments of that crime for nine months. They should be forced to have a child without their own consent.  In all likelihood, he equates rape with the idea that ‘women are asking to get raped’ by doing or wearing something to have been raped.

These men are supposedly viable candidates for the Republican nomination. They are by their own words, anti-choice, anti-woman and sexist.

They want women to be submissive to men, and their rules. Never you mind about equal rights. Go back to the kitchen and cook supper.

They really don’t like women. Don’t tell their wives this stuff-because it might lead to some domestic arguments.

For the voters who really care about platforms and the candidates’ positions on various issues, hear and feel the hatred these people have for half of the world’s population.

It’s truly pathetic-but these two particular men are not the only ones saying this stuff. Check the other Republican candidates out and see what they have to say about women and their rights.

In total, the entire Republican party has become a misogynistic stable of women haters-including Michelle Bachmann.

Shades of “The Handmaid’s Tale“.
